Terms of Service

Last updated 21 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Parallax browser extension and associated services (the "Service"), operated by Godric Li ("Parallax," "we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

When you create a Parallax account, the sign-up screen states that continuing constitutes agreement to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, and links to both.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service and to agree to these Terms on your behalf where required by law.

2. The Service

Parallax is a browser extension that assists with research by surfacing information, verifying claims against publicly available sources, and — where enabled — proactively highlighting connections, contradictions, or updated information related to content you are actively viewing. Parallax does not take actions on your behalf (such as sending messages, making purchases, or modifying accounts) unless a future feature explicitly states otherwise and you separately authorize it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

6. AI-Generated Content and Accuracy Disclaimer

Parallax uses artificial intelligence, including large language models and web search, to generate summaries, verifications, and proactive suggestions. AI-generated content may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Parallax is a research aid, not a substitute for your own judgment or professional advice. You should independently verify any information that is important to a decision you make, including but not limited to financial, legal, medical, academic, or professional decisions. We are not liable for actions taken in reliance on Service output.

7. Intellectual Property

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including but not limited to Supabase (authentication and data storage), Stripe (payments), and one or more AI model providers, to operate. Your use of the Service is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or as needed to protect the security or integrity of the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Godric Li shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.

11. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to active subscribers by email or in-app notice with reasonable advance notice before they take effect.
